Solopreneurship doesn’t happen in a silo. Building an online community is the secret to every solopreneur’s success.
You’re a solopreneur with big dreams, a kick-ass spirit, and killer ideas -- but you feel like you’re missing a critical aspect of a strong business: a supportive community surrounding you.
Or maybe you’ve started building that community, but you’re stunted, and know it can be stronger.
The Building Your Online Community e-course is the 14-week, step-by-step, action-packed guide you need to kick off and strengthen your online community as a solopreneur.
Here’s the thing: building your online community -- the clients on your roster, the fellow solopreneurs you partner with, the readers of your blog, the customers buying your products, the business coaches mentoring you along the way -- is an ongoing process, and one that’s never too early or late to start.
No matter your goals -- whether you’re shooting to build a multi-million dollar business or simply want to make a comfortable living as a solo business owner, community is key. Each and every business owner you look up to: they didn’t get to where they are today by themselves. It’s all about the people and opportunities they surrounded themselves with, by growing a loyal, engaged online community.
Now, it’s your turn.
We’re Sara and Cristina, the two-person team behind One Woman Shop and the Building Your Online Community e-course. Together, we’ve grown One Woman Shop from a free resource hub to an engaged, active membership community using the techniques outlined in this e-course. We’ve been where you are and know how to get you to the next level -- a thriving solo business owner with a strong community surrounding you.
Who is this e-course for?
The strategies outlined in this e-course are universal for online small business owners and creative entrepreneurs -- from bloggers to members of the handmade community and retail store owners to graphic designers -- and everyone in between.
The Building Your Online Community e-course is perfect for you if:
- you have the basics of online marketing down, but feel that you’re lacking a true community around your business, or
- you’re just starting out and are looking to build a network to learn from and grow with, or
- you’re leveling up your business and lacking support, or
- you’re stuck and don’t know where to go next
What you’ll get + what you’ll walk away with
Each week, you’ll be presented with a concept, along with relevant case studies, scripts, and necessary resources. Each week’s content will wrap up with a very specific action step, as well as a reminder to revisit the previous week’s action steps.

- Greater confidence in your ability to create a business community
- Tried-and-true strategies for cultivating strong online business relationships
- A proactive approach to growing your community -- and a strong start to making it happen

How is the course delivered?
Building Your Online Community is delivered via CourseCraft. The content is divided into weeks. Each week after you enroll, you’ll receive an email alerting you that new content is available.
What can I expect from the course content?
Here's a sneak peek at some of the e-course modules:
- Defining your community + determining who you want in it
- Setting up shop to grow your community
- Creating + promoting an opt-in
- Pitching yourself + your business
- Utilizing direct outreach to create opportunities
- Empowering your community in creative ways
How much time should I expect to invest each week?
As with pretty much everything in life and business, you get out what you put in. That is to say, results will vary based on your efforts (which may or may not correspond to time invested!). We encourage you to set aside at least 1-2 hours per week to learn the course content and -- more importantly -- implement the action steps.
Is this a course about content marketing/social media/sales/design/puppies?
In business -- especially as a solopreneur -- there is always overlap between different aspects of your business. While this e-course will incorporate sales and social media tactics and references to content marketing and design, it is not a comprehensive guide to choosing social media platforms, building a content strategy, writing sales pages, or DIY design. However, we highly encourage puppies be included as part of your community as you progress through the course.
Do I need to have a website in order to complete the e-course?
Having a website that represents you and your solo business is ideal, though not absolutely necessary for this e-course. Although some content and action steps deal with maximizing your website, it is possible to do the majority of the course content without a site in place. (And will be a fantastic motivator to get that site up!)
I’m worried that the course content will be too basic for me or too advanced for me.
We’ve taken into consideration that every solopreneur is at a different stage in building their business, and have included a fantastic blend of both foundational tactics as well as advanced strategies. Keeping in mind that the act of building an online community is an ongoing process, we’re confident that each and every solopreneur can benefit from both the “basic” material as a refresher, and the “advanced” material as a motivator.
I don’t even really have a business yet. Will the content be relevant?
Building a community is crucial at all stages of business, but it’s also the single most important piece of advice we give to those just starting out. Building an online community that can provide inspiration, feedback, and mentorship is crucial to getting past the analysis paralysis that holds you back when you’re just jumping in.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
If you’ve completed each week of the e-course and truly feel that your community and business did not benefit from what you’ve learned and implemented, we are happy to offer your money back.
I have more questions!
Well, we're happy to answer them! Email us and we'll get back to you as soon as possible 🙂
