The Road to Solopreneur Success looks different for each and every one of us. The most powerful thing we can do? Share our stories and shorten the learning curve for everyone around us.
So we turned to our community to share their Road to Solopreneur Success -- the ups, the downs, and the lessons learned as they work toward more celebrations each and every day in their solo businesses.
We are super grateful for what they shared -- and can’t wait for you to learn from them, too. Grab your coffee + a pen, and get ready to take notes from these great reads on day two of our Road to Solopreneur Success:
From a Box of Rocks to a Six-Figure Empire! - Anna Long, Electric Empire
Tears + self doubt aside, Bundle contributor Anna took her business from a stand selling rocks on the side of the road (age 6) to a soulful empire (age 32). It wasn’t easy, but she’s come out with lessons every solopreneur can benefit from hearing.
Our favorite quote: “A business is just a business if it doesn’t support a passion or a thrill within you that is DEEPER than simply making money.”
OWS Blog Tour: Lessons from a Solopreneur - Jill Dretzka, Spark & Influence
Even after five years in business, One Woman Shop member Jill still gets a knot in her stomach each and every time she sends a quote to a potential client. She shares how she’s overcoming that fear, and where she’s truly excelled in her business.
Our favorite quote: “When you work alone, sometimes it it hard not to attach your self-worth to that price tag.”
The Road to Success: The Struggle is Real - Lisa Jacobs, Marketing Creativity
Lisa (also a Bundle contributor!) started a lifestyle blog before she knew what WordPress or Blogger were… or what a lifestyle blog was, for that matter. She’s learned a few lessons since that time, but we’re particularly inspired by the one she shares here: that she, too, keeps problems out of fear. But that it’s changing… now.
Our favorite quote: “...keeping your problems is the equivalent to chasing your tail or running on a hamster wheel. If you don’t use your complaints to learn what needs to change in your life, then you’re getting nowhere fast.”
The Struggle for Work/Life Balance as a Solopreneur - Jackie Johnstone
Jackie tells us what her first two years of solopreneurship looked like: 7-day work weeks; 12-hour days; more time spent socializing in Facebook Groups than in real life. The pace worked out… until it didn’t. (Sound familiar?)
Our favorite quote: “I stepped away from away from social media, blogging and active marketing, simply running my business in a kind of “maintenance mode” while I made time for ME, outside of my business.”
The Road to Solopreneur Success - Coach Jennie, The Audacity Coach
In Jennie’s words: “They say it takes 10 years to build an overnight success. Well, I just wrapped up year nine.” Starting with an iBook and listservs and continuing on with a “temporary” job on the side, Jennie’s road to solopreneur success is as audacious as you can expect from the Audacity Coach. (Her Coaching Biz Badassery Bootcamp, which teaches you how to create a badass business, is included in the Bundle!)
Our favorite quote: “To say that building my business has been a roller coaster ride is putting it mildly. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
